In May 2019, TLM Nigeria embarked on her annual staff conference and retreat with the theme: Walking in the Will and Purpose of God (Matt. 6:10). The four-day retreat was a time set aside for staff, volunteers and board members to seek God’s face in order to know His will for TLM Nigeria as an organization and as individuals.
In attendance were all the staff members of TLM Nigeria including volunteers, Board members as well as colleagues from TLM Sweden (Pastor Allan Ekstedt — Country Director TLM Sweden), TLM England and Wales (Gareth Shrubsole — Head of Programmes, Alan Kiwanuka — Head, Institutional Fundraising) and TLM International (Brent Morgan — TLM International Director). It was indeed carried out at an unhurried and conducive pace to make room for rest and relaxation in order for staff to come back with a renewed sense of living as disciples of Christ knowing His will in accordance with His purpose for their lives.
Pastor Shola Adesoye, Secretary of the Board of TLM Nigeria and Senior Pastor, Lighthouse Ministries International and Pastor Allan Ekstedt were the guest ministers who brought God’s undiluted word. The meeting was characterized by group discussions, exhortations as well as praise, worship and prayer sessions. There were also informative, stimulating and highly participative training sessions on Measuring Change Outcomes facilitated by Gareth and Alan from TLM England and Wales and a training on the Child Protection Policy facilitated by a consultant. At the end of the retreat, the participating volunteers and staff went back to their stations rejuvenated and fulfilled.
