JOB SUMMARY:

The PDX Data Assistant will be responsible for accurate data entry, documentation, and maintaining of screening records for the Portable Digital X-ray (PDX) Unit during Active Case Finding (ACF) outreach programs in the community. The PDX Data Assistant will also support the lead radiographer and community-based organizations to implement active TB case finding measures in the community using the portable digital Xray’s. The role requires meticulous record-keeping, timely reporting, and coordination with healthcare and field teams to ensure seamless data flow for TB screening and diagnosis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Management & Entry:

  • Accurately enter patient and screening data into designated paper and electronic databases (screening register, presumptive register, CAD4TB, QTrack, DHIS, or other specified platforms). 
  • Ensure timely and complete documentation of all TB screening activities during outreach programs. 
  • Maintain a tracking system for screened individuals, presumed TB cases, and referrals for further diagnostic testing. 
  • Verify the quality and accuracy of data entered, ensuring consistency with source documents. 
  • Ensure in the documentation and submission of electronic presumptive register (EPR) 

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Work closely with radiographers, CBOs, and community health workers to ensure proper documentation of patient details. 
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) team by generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports on outreach screening activities. 
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient data in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. 
  • Assist in reviewing data for completeness and address any discrepancies in collaboration with the field team. 

Technical Support & System Maintenance:

  • Assist in troubleshooting basic technical issues related to data entry platforms. 
  • Ensure all electronic devices (tablets, laptops, or data entry tools) used for data collection are functioning correctly. 
  • Support in the integration and synchronization of data with the central database. 
  • Assist the radiographer in the movement and setting up of the PDX unit.

Qualifications and Skills:

Qualification At least 1 year experience in data entry or health records management, preferably in TB, HIV, or public health programs. BA/BSc/HND/OND in Art or Social Sciences field Proficiency in data management software (Excel, DHIS2, OpenMRS, etc.). Experience in TB screening programs, mobile health units, or active case-finding initiatives. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and reporting tools used in TB programs. Knowledge of data confidentiality policies in healthcare programs 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, approachable and good listener. Exhibits a high level of accuracy in work, and ability to analyse complex sets of relationships and situations. Excellent written and verbal English language Ability. Must be flexible with organizational awareness and understanding of cultural differences. Ability to manage official information in a confidential manner. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be a resident in the state applied for
Knowledge Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with outreach teams. Ability to work under pressure and manage large volumes of data in dynamic field settings. Proficiency in statistical analysis and use of a computer.
