TLM Nigeria, awarded for making giant strides toward positive Inner well-being amongst persons with disabilities in Nigeria

Following trailblazing efforts in promoting access and stimulating action to close the huge gap in mental health service delivery for persons affected by Leprosy, disabilities and other NTDs, The Conversation Conference (TCC1.0) presented TLM Nigeria with the award for outstanding NGO on mental health.  

TCC is an initiative of Intersect Consortium, the largest consortium of mental health service providers in West Africa. The conference seeks to promote mental health and well-being by asking the right questions, focusing on the right people, and stimulating healthy conversations around inner well-being. The goal of TCC1.0 is to harness insights from participants, the professional contributions of experts, and appropriate data to create a positive impact on mental health for people, organizations, and the government.

This epoch-making event was well attended by Government dignitaries including Rtd. Gen Buba Marwa, the Chairman of Nigerian Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA); Her Excellency Mrs. Hadiza El-Rufai-Chairman of the Northern Governors Wife Forum; Directors of Save the Children International; Country Director of Plan International; Consultant Psychiatrist Member of the Africa Center for Disease Control and advisory committee on Mental Health-Prof Taiwo Sheikh and other delegates. 

There to receive the award on behalf of TLMN, was the National Director of TLMN, Dr. Sunday Udo. Other awards presented at the event were the award for outstanding media organization on mental Health and Mental Health Personality of the year.
