Job Summary:
To support the Warehouse Specialist in managing Laboratory products/HIV fourth-party logistics (4PL) Global Fund project in Nigeria which encompasses a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the effective and efficient management of warehousing operations to meet product needs within the framework of integrated systems for the country.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) or any related health sciences degree, MPH, or advanced certificate in Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar role is required.
Experience working with the public sector and development partners is essential. Ability to supervise warehouse and warehousing operations practices in line with global best practices.
Experience working with TB/HIV laboratory products is desirable and familiarity with laboratory health products in these programs is required.
Competency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, database programs and statistical software.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Officer will support the Warehouse Specialist in managing Laboratory products/HIV fourth-party logistics (4PL) Global Fund project in Nigeria which encompasses a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the effective and efficient management of warehousing operations to meet product needs within the framework of integrated systems for the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control: Ensure accurate inventory tracking and management, including receipt, storage, and dispatch of TB/HIV-related medical supplies and equipment.
  • Order Fulfillment: Oversee the picking, packing, and dispatching of orders to various health facilities and ensure timely delivery.
  • Warehouse Layout: Optimize the warehouse layout to maximize storage efficiency and facilitate easy access to inventory.
  • Stock Reconciliation: Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile them with inventory records to ensure accuracy.
  • Interphase with PR(s), suppliers, transporters, and other logistics partners to ensure smooth and timely supply chain operations.
  • Transportation Management: Plan and manage the transportation of goods to and from the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with 3PL providers to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations related to the storage and handling of medical supplies.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the integrity and safety of medical supplies.
  • Cold Chain Management: Oversee the management of temperature-sensitive products, ensuring proper storage and transportation conditions.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure accurate data entry and management within warehouse management systems (WMIS).
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on inventory levels, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage and supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Training: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for warehouse staff to ensure adherence to best practices and protocols.
  • Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety within the warehouse, ensuring all staff adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations and reduce costs.
  • Technology Integration: Leverage technology and automation to improve inventory management and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain regular communication and report to the Laboratory Logistics Specialist in the project by providing updates on warehouse operations and supply chain performance for all Laboratory products.

Desired Competencies:

  • Ability to produce timely reports.
  • Strong management, supervisory, and capacity building skills.
  • A knowledge of public health issues in Nigeria and a knowledge of policies and processes of donor funded programs, GF experience is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team and interact effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to respond effectively to work challenges.
